Working with children always is filled with high and low moments. One of the best things is the comments they sometime make which can be totally unprepared for and yet very funny. I am currently teaching year 3/4 and we got talking about space and vacuums. I mentioned to the children that they wouldn’t be able to talk in space because there was no air. My talkative child was shocked and I told him that if I put him in a vacuum he wouldn’t be able to talk. He looked a bit shocked then replied, quite seriously, that he wouldn’t be quiet for long because he would just turn the Hoover on and get some air!
All you can really do is smile and continue.
