Runequest/Mythras – The Island of Vom Kayes Episode 1

Well, despite being over worked and very little time on my hands, would you believe I have taken not only a new gaming session but also a new gaming rule set! I remember Runequest from the first edition and have returned to the game in the sixth incarnation of the game, also called Mythras. This is the first adventure which is somewhat loosely based on the the published game called ‘Sariniya’s Curse’. This is the first time that I have GMed the game and the players have played so there are plenty of mistakes for you to spot.

For a brief synopsis of the episode, the players introduce their characters on a ship as they leave their home world and set sail for the ‘new world’. However, they suddenly are made aware that they have not only bought passage to the coastal town of Lindowe, but have also signed up to be the Captain’s personal bodyguards (never think twice about getting the professional skill of literacy!). After subduing a mutiny on the ship the party head towards the hidden temple on the Island of Vom Kayes – but who are watching them from the shadows!

Starting GMing shadowrun

Recently, I have started to get involved in Reddits. Some people have a rather negative view about Reddits, although currently I have found the community really helpful and interactive. Now before you start to think I am watching videos of Chinese/Japanese game shows, the Reddits I get involved in are not those types of communities but more related to Shadowrun and Runequest/Mythras. To be honest, I haven’t even searched for a D&D one because I have a feeling that there will be more discussions about the finery of the rules rather than more direct understanding of the them – the latter is what I actually need as I embark on these new games. So am I writing this waffle about Reddit? not at all, I am writing it in response to a Reddit post that I often reply to…

Shadowrun – Missing Margot Episode 2 – in which one of the characters nearly dies!

Well – I have to admit this right from the start – from after the break there is a slight problem with the the sound – yes I forgot to turn the player’s side of the conversation on…some might even say its better 😛

I’ve tried to give you some indication of what they are saying – but I think you can get the drift. Basically – someone ends up out for the count – one of the characters! – place your bets now!

My Salty Rant for the Summer!

Before anyone mentions it, I understand that a lot of games seem to annoy me and please don’t think I am a regular ‘salter’! (I’ve just learned what this slang means so I am keen to use it and any of its derivatives at every opportunity!). I always need a game that I just log into have a ‘blast’ with when I have got a few minutes to spare. Usually this has been Overwatch but recently I have become ‘salty’ with this game and so I have turned to another – Hearthstone. But I am finding that both games are causing me some ‘salt’….

Missing Margot Episode 1 – Let’s start at the beginning…

Another day, another job, another run. The party of three runners, Fhaze, Hector and Billy Bob, start on a run, the focus of which they have been successful in the past. Contacted my their favourite Two Troll Johnson, they arrange to meet a client in the now infamous Hungry like a Wolf restaurant and decide to accept a job which involves them seeking out Mr Simile’s secretary. She has only been missing for a few days so the trail is still fresh and she should be easy to find, although her apartment holds some surprises as does the content of the matrix searches.
