My life in daydreams…..Radio.

If you ever take a glance up to the top right of this webpage you will be aware that I put the book which I am currently listening to up there. Although most of these tend to be action, sci-fi or crime thrillers, the odd autobiography does creep its way into the schedule no and again. Every time I am listening to an autobiography I have this urge to write my own. Not that my life is very exciting – in fact my life often think my life is reflected in those starting lyrics of the ABBA classic – “Thank you for the music” – ‘I’m nothing special, in fact, I’m a bit of a bore.’ What I do wonder about is how I would actually write the events of my life and came up with a title and format of my autobiography. Instead of waiting for a book contract, I thought I would get on with it and start writing it using the same format but as blog posts. So here is one of them. The title of the book would be “My life in Daydreams” and this waffle’s topic is my radio career.

Would you like to be in my dream?

Stealing the famous quote from Martin Luther-King I would like you all to know that I have this dream. It’s not a big dream or even one which encompasses world peace. It is in fact quite a small dream and one which, when compared to Martin Luther-King’s quote, I feel quite inadequate actually quoting him. When I started along my journey in Radio Land I knew that I wanted to present but I also had another aim in mind. With the station becoming more established this aim has rose to the surface and, during the last week, I have been working hard to start to make the dream become a reality – what is it that dream? I want you to become part of the team!

Adventures in Radio Land – Part 1

I often feel that I was born like thirty years too early! When I look at the technology available now and the possible opportunities I often do wonder what I would be doing if I was thirty years younger! People will always say that it is never too late to do anything in life and I try to live to this aspiration, engaging in what I would like to do rather than, at my age, what I feel society feels I should be doing. I don’t know whether it is something about being a teacher/tutor, but I do like to present and it was always a dream of mine to have a successful radio station. Well, I didn’t have the time or the money, so what did I do – you guessed it – started my own radio station…and this is the story so far…
